Organizers estimate nearly 3,000 participants all ran up from Washington Avenue to Washington Park.
The race is all about recognizing women in sports and inspiring generations of women to experience the benefits of exercise and nutritious eating.
One woman tells us it’s her 4th run and she will be back again next year.
This year’s winner Tristin Van Ord lead the pack with a finish time of 15 minutes and 54 seconds.
“Seeing all the women running and supporting each other it’s the greatest thing ever,” Van Ord said. “We talk about the why, why we run and for me a big part of that is empowering women and girls and it was the perfect day for that. It was inspiring seeing everyone come together.”
