A candlelight vigil held in Schenectady for woman who was fatally stabbed

38-year-old Amanda Jaikaran was stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend, 52-year-old Rance White, on March 14 in Schenectady and on Friday a vigil was held in honor of Amanda.

38-year-old Amanda Jaikaran was stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend, 52-year-old Rance White, on March 14 in Schenectady and on Friday a vigil was held in honor of Amanda.

The vigil was held where Amanda was killed at 818 Lincoln Avenue. Family of Amanda came from Queens, New Jersey, and Connecticut to attend.

Family and friends of Amanda lit candles, embraced each other with hugs, and shed tears as they remembered their beloved companion.

Samantha Jaikaran, Amanda’s sister, organized the vigil and can’t stop thinking about her sister.

“My sister was my backbone. My sister was my strength. My sister was my everything. And we’re always here. We’re always doing everything together. It. Even her last breath. I was there with her,” said Samantha.

Rance White remains behind bars in connection to Amanda’s murder. According to court documents, Rance stabbed Amanda repeatedly on her neck, chest, arms, and hands.
