Absentee voting law battle heads to higher state court

We're learning more about the battle between state Republicans and Democrats over an absentee voting law. Now the case is moving to the State Court of Appeals, the Times Union reported.

The battle between state Republicans and Democrats over an absentee voting law is heading to the state Court of Appeals, the Times Union reported.

As NewsChannel 13 reported in August, a state court had upheld the law, which says if an election board is split on the legitimacy of an absentee ballot, the state defers to counting the vote.

Attorneys representing state Republicans and the Attorney General’s Office argued the law in court Tuesday. A decision will come before Election Day.
