Albany Airport Board brings in familiar faces to navigate stormy skies
The Albany Airport Authority brought in a new management team.
Their first day on the job was Thursday.
This comes amid a tumultuous time for the airport. Previous CEO Phil Calderone was fired.
The journey is kind of a back-to-the-future scenario. Peter Stuto, who used to be general counsel at the airport, is now the acting CEO.
John O’Donnell, the former CEO, is now chief operating officer.
Both men were lured out of retirement by the seven member Airport Authority Board, after a disharmonious relationship with Calderone, who was fired this week.
The change in leadership comes at a time when the airport is undergoing a major $100 million renovation.
The new leadership team wants to reset the course and navigate through the turbulence.
