Albany County leaders announce $250,000 to fight food insecurity
Albany County Executive Dan McCoy and legislator Wanda Willingham announced a new initiative Monday to address the issue of food insecurity.
Leaders are looking to close the meal gap in Albany County.
Albany County Executive Dan McCoy and Legislator Wanda Willingham announced a new initiative Monday to address the issue of food insecurity.
About $250,000 will go to two local organizations to help in the fight. That includes around $175,000 for the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and its 58 partners in the county. Those include 40 food pantries and 16 soup kitchens.
Around $75,000 will go to the United Way of the Greater Capital Region.
