Albany fire chases seven from home after Quail Street fire
An early Monday morning fire in Albany chased seven people from their homes.
Firefighters received a call at 4:24 a.m. reporting a fire at a vacant building at 29 Quail St. It then spread to the adjacent buildings at 27 and 31 Quail St., Albany Fire Chief Joseph Gregory said.
Firefighters called for additional departments because of the heavy fire condition. The building at 29 Quail St. partially collapsed about 15 minutes after firefighters arrived.
The fire was brought under control just before 6 a.m. No one was hurt.
Six people at 27 Quail St. and one person at 31 Quail St. have been displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
