Man gets 12 years in prison for robbing Walgreens in Albany.
An Albany man was sentenced on Wednesday to 12 years in prison for robbing a Walgreens with a butcher knife.
Ray Richardson, 57, entered the store at 41 Holland Ave. on Oct. 2, 2024 and showed the knife. He demanded the cashier empty the drawer from her register, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.
Richardson made off with an undisclosed amount of money and was later arrested by Albany Police.
Richardson had pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery in February.
