Albany man accused of having drugs, fighting with police

An Albany man has been indicted for allegedly possessing drugs and fighting with police in two separate incidents.
Albany Police said Isaiah Matos, 26, had a drug scale and cocaine and suboxone in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Jan. 14 at North Lake Avenue and Second Street.
Matos is also accused of having another scale and a number of baggies containing, cocaine, crack cocaine and fentanyl. Matos broke free and ran away while being arrested, police said. He tossed a bag of drugs and later fought with police as they tried to take him into custody. One officer was hurt.
Matos was arraigned on Wednesday on charges of second-degree assault, five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
