Albany man accused of scamming Mass. resident out of $100,000

An Albany man is accused of scamming a Cape Cod resident out of $100,000.

Khaseem Allah, 25, allegedly targeted a company with which the victim conducted business, according to the Barnstable Police Department. In November 2023, police said Allah sent an email that directed the person to redirect a $100,000 payment into a fraudulent account Allah created.

The company notified the victim of the scam. Investigators were able to track the payment to a bank used to Allah.

He was indicted on a larceny charge and arrested in Troy with assistance of Massachusetts State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service. Allah waived extradition and was transported from New York to Massachusetts. He was arraigned in Barnstable Superior Court on Aug. 1 and ordered held on $50,000 bail.
