Albany man pleads guilty to razor blade attack — the same month it happened

An Albany man admitted on Monday to slashing a person with a razor blade – just a few weeks after the incident.

Olonjadae Rouse, 31, got into an argument with the victim on March 4. Rouse then pulled out the blade and sliced the person in the head, face and neck area, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

Rouse knew the victim, but the DA’s Office would not disclose the specific relationship to protect the person’s privacy.

The victim required a lengthy hospital stay, prosecutors said.

Rouse left the scene but was arrested by Albany Police.

Rouse pleaded guilty in Albany County Court to first-degree assault. Prosecutors said Rouse wants to resolve the matter quickly.

He is expected to receive 18 years in prison when sentenced on May 30.
