Arrest made in Albany brush fire spree
An Albany man is responsible for several brush fires across the area, Colonie police said.

They arrested Mark Marcus near the scene of a brush fire around 12:30 a.m. Monday in the area of Albany Shaker Road and Maxwell Road.
They say Marcus was also responsible for multiple other fires over the past few weeks, in the areas of Albany Shaker Road, Maxwell Road and Everett Road.
Most of these fires were minor brush fires, ignited by setting fire to the poplar seeds along the road.
However, one fire on May 15 spread to a local church, damaging the building and a storage shed.
Marcus is charged with arson, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.
