Albany man faces gun charge after Colonie traffic stop

An Albany man is accused of possessing a gun illegally.
Colonie Police stopped a vehicle at around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday on Central Avenue near Delafield Drive for a traffic violation. Officers found a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun in the backpack of one of the occupants of the vehicle, police said.
Makayveon M. Moore, 19, allegedly did not have a valid pistol permit.
Moore was charged with criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned in Colonie Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
