Albany man pleads not guilty in Menands shooting
An Albany man has pleaded not guilty in connection with a Menands shooting.
Zacceus Cancer, 24, is accused of shooting a 35-year-old man on Sept. 7 around 4:30 p.m. in the area of Exit 6 and Broadway. The victim was treated on scene and taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Cancer was arraigned in Albany County Court on Thursday morning on charges of attempted murder, attempted assault, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Cancer is also accused of possessing cocaine.
Cancer was sent back to Albany County Jail and is due back in court on Nov. 22.
