Police say man shot dead in Albany was from Watervliet

Albany police continue to investigate a homicide at Sherman and Quail streets on Thursday afternoon.
Anthony Dias, 39, of Watervliet was killed.
Investigators don’t believe the shooting was random. They said Dias was involved in an ongoing dispute.
Albany Boxing, which is owned by the City of Albany, has cameras that may have captured what happened. Police say no video or any other information will be released at this time.
Eyewitnesses say the boxing gym closed early because of the shooting. They opened 24 hours later.
A car at the scene had at least one bullet hole in it. Police had put evidence markers in the car at one point.
At car seat could be seen in the back seat. Albany Police say no child was involved.
