Ten new Albany Police officers graduate from the academy
The City of Albany Police Department welcomes ten new police officers as they have just graduated from the police academy.
Ten new police officers are now ready to serve the City of Albany.
The officers graduated from the Albany Police Academy on Saturday.
NewsChannel13 spoke to Police Chief Eric Hawkins, who said these officers have spent months to become members of the Albany Police Department.
“This allows us to have new officers on the streets and more support. We have officers who are working a little bit extra to make things happen. And so, by adding these additional officers, it reduces some of the stress and some of the pressure on the existing officers, and it allows them to have to work less in order to serve this community”, said Hawkins.
Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan was present at the ceremony to congratulate the new officers.
