A 63-year-old woman was killed on Central Avenue, after being hit by a dump truck on Thursday.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. in the area of Central Avenue and Colvin Avenue, according to Albany Police.

It appears the victim was attempting to walk south across Central Avenue, when she was hit by the truck, police said.

The woman was treated on scene and then taken to Albany Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Her identify is being withheld until the family is notified.

The crash is under investigation, but investigators don’t think speed was a factor, they said.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police.
