Albany Police make arrest in South Pearl Street stabbing
Albany Police say they arrested Devyne White, 25, of Albany in connection with a stabbing that happened Thursday on South Pearl Street.
The stabbing happened around 10:40 a.m.
Police say an officer was on duty and patrolling in the area of City Mission, located at 259 South Pearl Street, when the officer observed the stabbing happen.
The officer witnessed White stab a person with a knife in the chest, said police.
Albany Police say the officer acted immediately and took White into custody.
The stabbing victim, a 58-year-old man from Albany, was treated on the scene for a puncture wound to the chest.
Police say White was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
White was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
