Alert Day: Potential for severe storms into this evening

Spotty light rain and snow showers linger into the afternoon with highs near 40. It will be gusty at times today with winds gusting as high as 40 mph this afternoon and evening.

Valentine’s Day on Friday will be windy, mainly dry and colder. A few lake effect flurries will be possible. Highs will be in the upper 20s with lows in the teens.

We have issued a First Warning Alert Day for the weekend as a two-part storm will bring another round of accumulating snow by Saturday afternoon and into the evening. Snow will changeover to a wintry mix or rain on Sunday depending on location. The wintry mix will change back over to snow as colder air moves in Saturday night. Behind these storms will be a renewed blast of Arctic air by Monday.

Have a great day!
