American Red Cross helping 13 people displaced by Valatie fire

Volunteers from the Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross provided emergency aid to 13 people after a fire burned through two households on Main Street in Valatie.

9 children and 4 adults are being helped in Columbia County. The ages of those children ranges from 1 to 11 years old.

Over the next few days, volunteers will provide services for those affected such as emotional support, shelter, food, and clothing.

The fire broke out on Wednesday Afternoon. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
