Amsterdam facing water issues, repairs expected this week

Amsterdam is facing some water issues right now.

The City Mayor says they have been forced to operate with a faulty pressure reducing valve buried underneath the Henrietta Boulevard Hill, while a new one was being custom made.

On Monday, the city is planning to shut down water at 8 p.m.

This would allow crews to make the repairs.

They plan to restore water service by 5 a.m. Tuesday.

A boil water order will be issued at that time for all areas impacted by the shutdown.

The water boil will remain in effect until testing confirms it is no longer necessary.

They do hope it goes until no later than 12 p.m. Wednesday.
