A man is charged with murder after an Amsterdam shooting.  

Angel L. Morales, 30, shot and killed Robert M. Green Jr., according to Amsterdam Police.

The shooting happened on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at around 7:20 p.m. in the area of 60 James St. 

Bystanders tried to perform life-saving measures until first responders arrived.

Green, 34, was taken to Albany Medical Center. He died from his injuries late in the night on Dec. 19, police said. 

Morales knew Green, according to police, and this incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute.  

Morales was charged with second-degree murder. He was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court and sent without bail to Montgomery County Jail.
