An Amsterdam man accused of stealing from a sports equipment shed is facing charges in a similar incident.
Derek-Michael K. Kaai, 33, took items from the Amsterdam Youth Soccer shed on Locust Avenue sometime between Sept. 9 and Sept. 11, police said.
Kaii had previously been arrested on Sept. 12 by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly taking items from a shed at Isabel’s Field in the town of Amsterdam.
Kaii had items that were linked to the Amsterdam Youth Soccer shed burglary, police said. They obtained an arrest warrant and Kaii was picked up by Amsterdam Police on Oct. 27 while walking on Market Street.
Kaii was charged with two misdemeanors of criminal possession of a stolen property. He held pending arraignment in Amsterdam City Court.
