Amtrak to temporarily restore some reduced train service in Rensselaer

Amtrak will restore some previously cut back service from its Rensselaer Train Station, beginning this Sunday night, Nov. 24.

This is specifically to help commuters for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The combined Maple Leaf and Adirondack trains are back on their old separate schedules for just a week.

This will also help reduce some long layovers that some people had in Rensselaer.

The new, reduced schedules begin again on Dec. 2.

As NewsChannel 13 previously reported, Amtrak is cutting some services due to a construction project. The cuts are expected to last for three years.
