Animals seized from Empawthy Rescue in Cohoes last month are gaining weight and strength, according to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.

A 3-month-old puppy, now named Sprite, who was non-responsive on the night she was found, has made vast improvement, now running around her foster home.

The operators of the rescue, Jennifer Uhl and Andrew Tremblay, are charged with more than 200 counts of animal cruelty.
