Arrest made in connection with Central Ave shooting incident

Albany Police arrested Bernard Rosario, 43, of Albany in connection to a shooting incident that happened on Central Avenue early Saturday morning.

The incident happened around 2:25 a.m. in the area of Central Avenue and Lark Street.

Officers found evidence of gun fire at the scene.

After further investigation, detectives determined that the victim and Rosario were involved in a physical altercation before the shooting incident.

Albany Police matched the description of the suspect with Rosario, observed on the 100 block of Lark Street, where they also found a loaded handgun.

Authorities learned that the 41-year-old victim took himself to Albany Medical Center Hospital for gunshot wounds to his leg.

Rosario was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

31-year-old Mario Gorostiza was also arrested for third-degree assault for his involvement in the incident.

Rosario and Gorostiza are scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court Saturday morning.
