An author with ties to the Capital Region has written a book on civil rights activism and the pivotal role of education, with a particular emphasis on Juneteenth.

Dr. Donna Nicol spoke with NewsChannel 13’s Tiffany Payton.

She unveiled her latest work, “Black Woman on Board.”

The book traces the historical journey of African Americans through education from Juneteenth to affirmative action.
