A Ballston Lake man is facing up to 12 years in prison for committing a series of burglaries in Saratoga County last summer.
Shaun A. Sheriff, 33, pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court on Monday to burglary.
Sheriff was arrested in June 2024 after police said he broke into a home in the town of Clifton Park to steal property.
The homeowners woke up to Sheriff standing at the foot of their bed and called police. The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrived and arrested him. Sheriff had the stolen items in his pocket, according to the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office.
Investigators determined that Sheriff was responsible for a series of late-night burglaries in Clifton Park and Saratoga Springs. Sheriff stole money, alcohol and merchandise from The Bunker, TGI Friday’s Jimmy’s Egg and the Hudson Valley Credit Union.
Sheriff is scheduled to be sentenced on May 2. He faces 8 to 12 years in prison.
