The Saratoga Springs Police Department is mourning the loss of a beloved horse.

King Tut, a member of the department’s Mounted Unit, unexpectedly passed away, officials said.

King Tut served in the City of Saratoga Springs for 20 years, capturing the hearts of both residents and visitors.

Officials thanked everyone in the community for loving and appreciating King Tut during his two decades on the force.
