Berkshire County middle school remains closed because of malfunctioning boilers

A Berkshire County middle school closed early Monday because of malfunctioning boilers.

Early in the morning, staff at Herberg Middle School learned that the heating system was not functioning properly. Just after 8 a.m., they were notified that the electrical and boiler issues cannot be fixed, so school was dismissed at 11 a.m.

The district said they will be closed again on Tuesday because of the problem.
