Berkshire County teacher accused of beating his dogs

A teacher at a Berkshire County school has been arrested for allegedly beating and choking his dogs.

Samuel DeMello, 34, has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle reported.

DeMello teachers third grade at the Berkshire Waldorf School. He is also accused of punching and throwing his dogs.

DeMello is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 18.
