Bigamist featured on British TV show gets 2 to 4 years prison for Clifton Park theft

A bigamist whose story was documented in a British television documentary series was sentenced to up to 4 years in prison for trying to steal from a Clifton Park business.

William Jordan, 57, of Salem, was arrested back in May 2023 after a business said that a former employee attempted to withdraw money using a fraudulent check.

The incident took place in February 2023 and the money was not withdrawn.

Jordan received a sentence of 2 to 4 years in prison Monday in Saratoga County Court. 

Jordan is the subject of a three-part ITV docuseries called “The Other Mrs. Jordan.” It is based on a book written by the woman who thought she was his wife – Mary Turner Thomson.

Thomson said Jordan claimed he was a CIA agent and was gone for extended periods, according to The Sun newspaper. However, that was all lies. He worked in information technology. In 2004, he told her that he was quitting his CIA job and doing IT. However, he also told her that he needed money to pay off some men who threatened to come after his family. She eventually ended up giving him nearly 200,000 pounds.

In 2006, she received a call from his wife and discovered that he had a lengthy rap sheet for fraud, bigamy and weapons charges. He had also been in jail for five years. He also had fathered over a dozen children with different women.
