Bill blocks radioactive waste from being dumped into Hudson River

A new bill has been passed to prevent radioactive nuclear waste from being dumped into the Hudson River.
The New York State Assembly passed the bill on Wednesday. It now heads to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s desk.
The blocks decommissioning nuclear plants from dumping any radioactive waste into the Hudson River.
Radioactive waste from nuclear plants contains toxic contaminants that are often linked to several negative health effects.
The bill passed unanimously in the state Senate on June 9.
