Bill would change pay model for EMS providers

Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara is urging the governor to sign his “Direct Pay” bill into law.
The bill will change the pay model for ambulance and EMS service providers so that they are reliably paid directly by health insurers.
It will simplify the process of reimbursing ambulance service providers and alleviate the unnecessary financial burden on patients, Santabarbara said.
