The Red Cross kicked things off with a public blood drive at Rivers Casino Tuesday morning.
Organizers say there is an urgent need for blood, in light of severe weather across the country, including the devastation in Buffalo.
Plenty of people came through to roll up their sleeves.
We spoke to one donor, who says she’s been donating regularly for years now.
And at the end of this month – there will be another blood drive in Schenectady County.
This one will be held on January 30th from 9 to 3, at the Karen B Johnson Library in Schenectady.
The Red Cross says donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O Negative, A Negative and B Negative.
