Boy, 17, faces weapons, assault charges after domestic incident
A 17-year-old boy is facing weapons charges after a domestic incident.
Albany Police responded to the 200 block of Livingston Avenue on Tuesday at around 5:40 p.m. for a report of an assault. An investigation determined that the suspect hit her in the head with a handgun and injured her, police said.
The victim was treated on scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center. Detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Children and Family Service Unit searched a nearby residence at the 300 block of Livingston Avenue and found a loaded handgun, they said.
The suspect, whose name will not be released due to his age, was charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
He was also charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with a shots fired incident on Oct. 18 in the area of Lark and Second streets.
He was arraigned Tuesday evening and sent to the Albany County Juvenile Secure Detention facility.
