A 17-year-old boy has been indicted in a murder case on Morton Avenue this past weekend.
He is facing charges for the death of Naheim Burbridge.
Burbridge was shot with an illegal handgun by the suspect on July 22 at 58 Morton Avenue, police said.
The suspect has been taken to a juvenile facility, the district attorney’s office said.
This comes after Albany District Attorney David Soares held a meeting Thursday denouncing the “Raise The Age” law.
Before the law was passed, New York was one of two states that automatically prosecuted 16 and 17-year-olds as adults.
