Firefighters responded to a heavy fire on Wednesday morning that broke out above La Familia Barber Shop on Central Avenue. The blaze ignited around 3:40 a.m., causing significant damage to the building and displacing multiple residents.

Fire officials said crews acted swiftly to contain the flames, preventing further spread to neighboring structures. One person sustained injuries in the fire and has been transported to a local hospital. Fortunately, no firefighters or additional residents were harmed.

Nine adults were displaced from their homes by the fire. Authorities are working with local organizations to provide them with temporary housing and support.

Central Avenue was temporarily closed to traffic earlier in the morning but has since reopened in both directions. Commuters should remain cautious as emergency crews continue their work at the scene.
