Broken train blocked Main Street in Chatham

CHATHAM, N.Y. (WNYT)- A train came to a noisy halt Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Main Street and Railroad Avenue in Chatham, according to a NewsChannel 13 viewer. Our viewer said the train was moved slowly to unblock the intersection around 2:40 p.m.

Around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, a State Police dispatcher said a coupler knuckle broke on one of the train cars and was being repaired. The dispatcher said it was unknown how long the train would take to be repaired.

Chatham Fire Department and State Police were at the scene.
