Bronx man gets life without parole in Pittsfield murder-for-hire plot

A Bronx man convicted in a murder-for-hire plot was sentenced on Wednesday to life without parole.

Lance Burke, 46, was found guilty earlier this month three charges including first-degree murder and two counts of illegal possession of a firearm in the death of David Green Jr.

Green was killed while sitting in his vehicle on Willow Street on Nov. 3, 2018.

Green’s girlfriend at the time said the killing was because of an ongoing fight with another man, according to NewsChannel 13’s media partners at the Berkshire Eagle.

Prosecutors said that man hired Burke to carry out the murder.

They used video and mobile phone tracking surveillance to pinpoint Burke as the killer.

The first trial in 2024 ended in a hung jury.
