Brunswick man admits to stabbing Troy Police K-9
A Brunswick man is expected to be sentenced to over 5 years in state prison for stabbing a Troy Police K-9.
Curtis Knockwood, 25, pleaded guilty in Rensselaer County Court on Friday to attempted burglary, and charges related to animal cruelty.
Knockwood was trying to rob a home in the Emerald Greens section of Troy on July 5, 2023. He fled the property after being caught by the homeowner, prosecutors said. After being caught by the K-9 Norbi, Knockwood stabbed the dog 12 times.
Sentencing for Knockwood is set for April 22.
Norbi has made a full recovery.
