Cafe Capriccio pleading for sentimental sign to be returned.
Cafe Capriccio in downtown Albany is hoping that someone will return their special plaque commemorating their 40th anniversary.
The plaque was commissioned in 2022 to celebrate the restaurant on Grand Street’s four decades of fine dining. Owner Jim Rua hung it up to go with the dozens of other historic photographs.
But one night, it disappeared.
“Honestly, sadly not the first time something went missing here. We’ve had other pieces of artwork, small, not so special to us, but still sad nonetheless that a customer of ours would feel the need to take something that’s not theirs,” said cafe manager Carli McCoy.
Find out why the restaurant hopes the thief will do the right thing by watching video of Dan Levy’s story.
