Canadian visitors not coming to Lake George amid trade war

Canadians were told by government leaders to cancel their United States vacations this year, and many Canadians are listening.
The trade war and the war of words between leaders of the two countries is having an impact on the tourism economy of Lake George.
Canadians have been coming for many years. However, they aren’t coming this year. Fewer came in January, February and March and fewer have shown interest, according to the Lake George Chamber of Commerce.
There was a 40% decrease in visitors to the chamber’s website, according to President Gina Mintzer.
“The Holiday Inn Resort loves their Canadian guests. They’re very important and they come year after year,” said Vinnie Crocitto, with the resort.
They are getting cancellations this year, but there are also other factors.
