Love was in the Capital Region air on Valentine’s Day. That’s making candy stores happy.

Ian Krause, general manager at Krause’s Homemade Candy in Colonie, said it’s been a great year for the business.

“We can get pretty much everything we need together in like two to three weeks. Then there’s a lot of planning and prep work and folding boxes and things,” said Krause. “The big thing is ordering the strawberries, predicting how many we’re going to sell each day.”

Chocolate covered strawberries are one of the most popular choices this time of year, Krause said.
