The Capital City Rescue Mission is preparing to help families in need ahead of Thanksgiving.

Preparation for the big Thanksgiving Day meal will take place through Wednesday, as the Capital City Rescue Mission gets ready to serve 1,800 meals on Thursday.

Food is free for anyone living in the community and will be served from noon to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
