Capital Region ceremonies planned to mark 9/11

Sunday marks the 21st anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. There are a number of events around the Capital Region to commemorate the day.

Amsterdam, 9:30 a.m. – Remembrance ceremony at Riverlink Park.

Watervliet, 10 a.m. – Ceremony at the Watervliet Elks Lodge at Fourth Avenue and Fifth Street.

Glenville, 1 p.m. – The Waters Edge Lighthouse Restaurant is holding a ceremony at the 9/11 memorial site across from the restaurant.

Schenectady, 2 p.m. – A 9/12 memorial service will be held at the Engine Hill Community Center at the Bridge Christian Church, 735 Crane St.

Halfmoon, 6 p.m. – A ceremony will take place at the Abele Memorial Park on Harris Road.

Ballston Spa, 7 p.m. – Memorial ceremony at the Village Hall.

Glenmont, 7 p.m. – The First Responders Honor Garden is holding a sunset remembrance ceremony at the Bethlehem fire training facility off Kenwood Avenue.
