Capital Region travelers experiencing delays and cancellations at the airport

A comprehensive look at local, statewide and national news events is provided by the NewsChannel 13 Team, along with updates on sports and the weather forecast.

Rain, snow, and high winds made a mess for travelers over the long weekend and going into school break- especially at airports, with many flight delays and cancellations.

There were more than 1,800 cancellations and almost 10,000 delays yesterday across the country.
NewsChannel 13 was live at Albany International Airport this morning as passengers stood in lines and filled the check-in gates.

According to airport officials, many delays yesterday were due to severe weather conditions and intermittent power outages. This caused a ripple effect with arriving flights, and passengers had to wait for available gate space before deplaning.

Lisa Kassabian, of Clifton Park, was on an Allegiant flight yesterday. She shared how she was stuck on a plane to Punta Gorda, Florida for six hours. The flight never departed.

NewsChannel13 will continue to track travel conditions as passengers deal with more delays and cancellations.
