Man dead after car, motorcycle collide on Route 9 in Malta
A man is dead after a crash between a car and a motorcycle caused big traffic tie-ups at the intersection of Route 9 and Cherry Choke Road, and even part of the Northway, late Friday afternoon.

The crash happened at around 3:47 p.m. at the intersection of Route 9 and Cherry Choke Road in Malta.
The rider of the motorcycle was sent to Saratoga Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The operator of the SUV has minor injuries.
Detours were in place as roadways were blocked – however all roadways have since reopened on Route 9 and Cherry Choke Road in the town of Malta.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
