Castleton Elementary School is celebrating 100 years this week.
Castleton Elementary School is celebrating 100 years this week.
Construction on the school began in 1917 – and it opened in 1923.
The school was originally called Castleton Union Free School #10.
The cost of construction back then was $160,000, the district said. That’s nearly $3 million today.
The school held an assembly this week to celebrate the milestone.
