Schenectady man admits to inappropriately touching young girl

A Schenectady man has admitted to inappropriately touching a girl under age 11 multiple times.

The Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office says Eric Evans pleaded guilty to one count of sexual abuse.

The investigation began after the child told a school social worker in Rotterdam about the assaults.

Police later learned the abuse happened in Schenectady.

Evans will be placed on 10 years of probation and will be required to register as a sex offender.

A full stay away order of protection was issued for the victim.
