Closing arguments are scheduled for Tuesday morning in the trial of a man accused of killing a Watervliet man last year.

Kerdel Young is charged with second-degree murder in the February 2023 death of Anthony Dias, in Albany’s Pine Hills neighborhood. It was the city’s first homicide that year.

Young shot Dias multiple times in the middle of the afternoon, investigators said. Dias died at the scene.

The shooting was recorded by cameras in the area and that helped them find Young, investigators said.

The defense rested its case early Monday afternoon.

Young faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
